In celebration of the 20th anniversary of New York film distribution company Zeitgeist Films, MoMA presents Zeitgeist: The Films of Our Time, a month-long screening series of films by critical figures in the company's history and catalog. Included in the schedule will be five Canadian films: The Heart of the World and Careful (both written and directed by Guy Maddin), The Corporation (directed by Jennifer Abbott and Mark Achbar), Fire (written and directed by Deepa Mehta), and Calendar [pictured] (written and directed by Atom Egoyan). Zeitgeist Films has a long history with Canadian cinema, having introduced U.S. audiences to Toronto's Atom Egoyan and Winnipeg's Guy Maddin and having distributed many major Canadian documentaries (including the recently released Up the Yangtze).
